Kenneth was born on 23rd March 1913 in Polopit, Titchmarsh. He was the only son of John and Ellen Glover. From Tichmarsh the family moved to the Kings Head Inn in Wadenhoe in 1927. By 1939 they were living in a cottage in Woodnewton next to the Methodist Chapel; Kenneth’s occupation was noted as a bricklayer. He married Sarah Annie White in 1943.
It wouldn’t have been very long after the wedding that Kenneth joined the Royal Army Medical Corps. A newspaper report in the Friday edition of Peterborough Standard stated that Kenneth had been wounded on 16th August whilst serving with the B.L.A. Later his parents were notified that he had actually died . He was buried in grave V.E.10 of the Bayeux War Cemetery in France.
The town of Bayeux, in Normandy, lies 30 kilometres north-west of Caen. Bayeux War Cemetery is situated in the south-western outskirts of the town on the by-pass (D5), which is named Boulevard Fabian Ware. On the opposite side of the road stands the Bayeux Memorial.
