The Group is in the process of researching all the men who went from this village to serve   in the war.  By clicking on the titles in the box on the right, you will be able to read stories  about these men; what their occupations were, where they signed up, which service they were in, which regiments they joined, what they did when they returned home and the medals they received.

The names have been taken from the Woodnewton Roll of Honour; a handwritten framed photograph which sits on the tower wall in the Parish Church of St Mary’s.

We have tried to be as accurate as possible and have used records from Genealogy sites on the internet, together with any information that we have been able to source from descendants.  Should you have any further details that we could include, do please contact us on woodnewtonhistory@gmail.com.
