Jane Tailby was born near Rugby.  After leaving school, she trained to be a teacher, with a main focus in  Foreign Lanaguages.  She spent 23 years teaching in Bristol and it was in this City when she had the calling, so in 2004 became ordained as a Deacon and then a year later, a priest, in the Bristol Diocese.  In 2009 Jane moved to South Wiltshire and took up full-time parish work as a Team Vicar in a group of 14 rural parishes.

It was a wish to be nearer her home and family that brought Jane to the Watersmete Benefice in 2016.  The institution as Vicar of the parishes of Apethorpe, Thornhaugh and Wansford, Woodnewton and Yarwell took place at St Mary the Virgin & All Saints, Nassington, on 24th September by the Bishop of Brixworth.  She was inducted by the Archdeacon of Oakham.  A Reception folllowed in Prebendal Manor Barn.
