George was born on 10th June 1875 in Woodnewton.  He was one of ten children born to mother, Annie (nee Pridmore) and Benjamin Hull.  Both parents were natives of Woodnewton.

After leaving school, George went to work on a local farm and this can be confirmed by the 1901 census. George married Margaret Annie Pridmore on 20th April 1910, and by the time he would have joined the Royal Air Force, they would have three children: George, Phyllis and Margaret.

We know from the National Archives that George attested on 22nd July 1918 to join the Royal Airforce.  His papers show he was 5ft 3ins in height,  that he had brown hair and eyes and  hisis chest size was 28.5 inches. It also detailed his movements from Cattle Station to the Purfleet Dispersal Unit on13th March 1919.  However, he is shown on  the Autumn 1919 Electoral Roll as being resident in Woodnewton.  He was transferred to RAF Reserve on 12 April 1919 and finally discharged on 20th April 1920.

The 1921 census provides us with the evidence that George was still working on a farm and he gave his employer as Sydney Spademan, who was farming at the Mill, Woodnewton.  We have no  evidence to support that George remained working at the Mill until Sydney relinquished his tenancy from Lord Brassey in 1935, bu he would have had to leave at that time anyway. The 1939 Register confirms that he was working on a Council Farm and still living in Woodnewton at Stone Cottage, near the church. George would remain in the cottage until his death in 1959.

George’s funeral service was held at St Mary’s Church on Thursday 23rd July.  Margaret would suvive him by six years.
