Horace was born at Cherry Holt, Woodnewton on Christmas Day 1896 to Thomas and Eliza Jane (nee Brown) Mould, who were married on 18th April 1886 at Sparkbrook, Warwickshire. He was the youngest of their children, having an older brother (William Thomas) and two sisters. He started at Woodnewon school on 22nd April 1901, and in the 1939 Census he was listed as “helping at home”, probably in the family market gardening business.
Horace enlisted in the Northamptonshire Regiment as a Private in the Agricultural Labour Corps and was discharged on 12th March 1919, suffering from Pulmonary Tuberculosis. In the 1939 Register, he was listed as single man living at Cherry Holt with his parents and Brother William.
Horace died on 6th January 1948, in Leicester Royal Infirmary.
