King Charles III’s Coronation Celebrations

5th to 8th May 2023

FRIDAY 5th May 2023

The ‘Bring Your Own Bar and Snacks’ Evening held in the Village Hall was very well attended with a lively buzz of chat and laughter in the room.  A really lovely start to the Coronation Celebrations and so popular it was suggested it could become a regular Friday night event.

SUNDAY 7th May 2023

THE BIG PICNIC
The weather for The Big Picnic was sunny and warm and during the afternoon many families, friends and neighbours carried picnics, blankets and chairs to the Village Playing Field. Live music was supplied by local musicians John Phythian and Tony Brough .
The photos clearly illustrate the relaxed and friendly atmosphere

The scale of the work was enormous but they worked tirelessly at clearing trees, brambles and roots and were eventually rewarded with tea and cakes in the Village Hall. This is a long term project which will carry on through the summer and it is planned to plant the trees in the Autumn. The Parish Council had asked residents to make donations towards the cost of the trees and to date have had a good response
