The Woodnewton Table Tennis Group has been running since 2013 and was originally the brain child of Phil Wood.  Having just retired, he read that table tennis was a good form of exercise as well as helping with memory loss and dementia.

Following a conversation with Geoff Rawding, they agreed to ‘give it a go’ with the use of an existing table in the village hall.  Soon other people were asking to join in and slowly the number of people increased with the use of 3 tables, which is the maximum the hall could hold.

A nominal fee of £1 per session was agreed and charge until an increase of £2 per session in October 2022, with all the monies raised being donated to the village hall funds.
