The Manor of Woodnewton to wit the view of Frank Pledge with the Court Baron of the right honourable John Earl of Westmorland Knight of the most noble Order of the Garter Lord of this Manor holden in and for this Manor on Wednesday the 6th day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and two before Thomas Prentice Gen Deputy Steward of John William Bramston Esquire Chief Steward there.
All that Cottage or Tenement and Orchard with all and singular the Appurtenances thereto belonging situate lying and being in Woodnewton aforesaid formerly in the tenure or occupation of Mr John Desborough and William Norman or one of them afterwards of Anthony King and now of William Barron and Alice Ferry with their Appurtenances thereunto belonging and all their and each of their Estate Right Title and Interest in and to the same To the use and Behoof of William Franey of Apethorpe in the county of Northampton Grasier his Heirs and Assigns forever according to the Custom of this Manor and now at this Court comes the said William Franey in his proper person and prays to be admitted Tenant to the said premises with their Appurtenances to surrendered to him as aforesaid To whom the Lord of this Manor by his said Deputy Steward grants and delivers Seisin thereof by the Rod according to the Custom of this Manor
To Have and to Hold the said Premises with their Appurtenances to him the said William Franey his Heirs and Assigns for ever according to the form and effect of the said Surrender To hold of the Lord by the Rod at the will of the Lord according to the Custom of this Manor Fealty suit of cowit the yearly rent of four pence and other Services for the same due and of the right accustomed and he pays to the Lord for his time Two pounds twelve shillings and six pence and is admitted Tenant and does his Fealty.
